Figeholm is specialized in the supply of cellulose-based insulation components for the power transformer industry.
Some transformers manufactures prefer to buy completely finished parts for their insulation assemblies. Others have equipped themselves for producing certain parts in the house, and prefer to buy semi-finished products or flat sheet in bulk.
Figeholm is prepared to meet these preferences with the following product program which is detailed under separate tabs in following sections of this catalogue.

Organized Kits or Pre-assemblies
There is an increasing interest in the transformer industry to facilitate storage administration and production planning by taking delivery of “kits”, This means organized sets containing all insulation system components for a specific transformer, pre-assembled leg by leg. Figeholm is prepared to collaborate with customers in order to develop the necessary routines for such handling of the parts.
Special parts, tailor-made
Figeholm is prepared to manufacture special parts according to customer drawings. This applies in particular to moulded pressboard parts of unique shape, and to press-plates, machined from laminated board. It is also possible to perform pressboard cladding or metallic shielding bodies supplied by the customer or made according to customer drawings.
The responsibility for the correct shape of these parts will rest with the customer who provides the drawing. Figeholm will however review the design from the point of view of manufacturing suitability and may make suggestions for possible improvements in this respect.

Communication of order specification data
The traditional way to communicate the order specification data can still be used, i.e. mail, express mail or by telefax.
However, conventional manual communication of product identification data by mail and telefax is subject to large risk of misinterpretation and error. This is caused by blurred or incomplete sheets containing drawing figures with vital dimensions and notes. There is also a risk of human error when the information shall be translated to manufacturing work-sheets at Figeholm. It is therefore strongly recommended that full-size drawings should be supplied.
Figeholm is now also prepared to discuss electronic transmission of full graphical information, or parametric information linked to available standard drawings (“models”), through the public data communication network directly into the Company’s CAD/CAM installation (of type Pro/ENGINEER). There is also an option to mail such information on discs, particularly when repetitive use is foreseen.
Design systems for standardized families of transformers make use of parametric information linked to standard drawings with open dimensions. If background files for such systems are deployed with Figeholm, it is possible to communicate the specification of a delivery directly in terms of concentrated parametric information only. This may be communicated on discs, or electronically over the public data network. |
