Strips
The strips presented under this tab of the catalogue are in the first place intended for making up spacing between windings (“duct strips”).
In winding systems with concentric windings of disc or helical type such strips are also used to align and lock horizontal spacers (“key strips”, “locking strips”). The shape of the spacer lock calls for different profiles of the strips.
Heavy strips of thick laminated pressboard are also used as structural elements for supporting connection leads in the transformer (“cleats and leads”).
Different profile shapes – uncalibrated and calibrated
Strips of ELBOARD HD are either uncalibrated – just sawn from sheet material with original thickness – or calibrated to accurate thickness by milling. Uncalibrated strips are e.g. used in bundles, to build ducts of specified radial with between windings (“duct strips”). Flat calibrated strips are used as raw material for making spacers of accurate axial thickness. Key strips are milled to specified profile. A selection of standard profiles with code numbers is listed below. Profile dimensions and tolerances are shown on page 3.

Please note that the edges of trapezoidal key-strips are rounded. The width that is specified in this catalogue (W) is the actual width after chamfering of the edges.
Shipment Lengths
Strips are shipped in bundles, normally in standardized lengths with coarse tolerance. The standard lengths are approximately 2, 3 or 4 meters. On request, they will be cut to accurate length. |
